4. What is RecWin Technology?

AutoMe uses unique RecWin Technology that senses changes between robot record and play conditions. It then automatically adjusts to replay the robots accurately providing you with trouble-free robots. For example, it senses windows size or position change.

Yes. Record and replay feature is designed for this purpose. You can simply record your actions as a robot, and then AutoMe can run it as many times as you like, and whenever you want it to run. Check out more details here.

13. Can I start a robot by one key press?

Yes. Every robot has a Start Hot Key, pressing start hotkey will start robot. For more detail about how it works, click here.

14. Can I stop a robot while it is running?

Yes. Evey robot has a stop hotkey. Stop hotkey is F12 if you did not change it. Press stop hotkey will stop robot running.

15. Can I backup robots I created in AutoMe, in case if I move to a new computer or re-format my current hard disk?

Yes. You can use export and import feature to backup robot. To know how, click here.

16. Can I move robots I created in AutoMe to run on another computer?

Yes. You can use export and import feature to move robots to another computer. For more detail about export and import feauter, click here.

Note: When you export robot to run on another computer, please make sure that screen coordinates are same, or robot does not depend on screen coordiates. Otherwise robot may click at wrong places.

18. If I speed up the robot execution, will it affect its accuracy?

No. You can set robot to run with a faster speed, or run with original speed. Click here for how to do it. AutoMe technology ensures that even by increasing the running speed, accuracy and reliability are not compromised.

19. I wish to check color at some point on screen. Can I do that with AutoMe?

Yes. AutoMe has a color compare features, which checkes color under cursor or at specified point on screen. Click here for more detail.

20. How to let robot pause for a while, so that other program has enough time to finish tasks before robot continues?

You can add a wait action which will pause robot. For more detail about wait action, click here.

21. Does it matter if the window size and locations of my applications change between recording and replaying?

No. AutoMe's RecWin technology automatically adjust to changes of window size and location.

22. Can I start and stop recording robot using hotkey, that way I don't have to open recorder dialog which always shows up during recording?

Yes. You can open AutoMe, and then minimize it, or even hide it to system tray. Then
- To start recording, press Ctrl + Alt + R from any application
- To stop recording, press Ctrl + Alt + S from any application
This way you don’t have to leave your application to record a robot.

23. What key can be set as start or end hotkey?

Following keys can be set as start or end hotkey:
(1) Function keys on top part of your keyboard: 'F1' to 'F11'
(2) Key 'A' to 'Z', key '1' to '0', other keys like '`', '-', '+', '[', ']', '\' etc on your main keyboard can also be set as start or end hotkey
(3) Arrow keys on middle lower part of your keyboard: left, Up, Right, Down
(4) "Ctrl + (keys mentioned above)". For example, Ctrl + M
(5) "Shift + (keys mentioned above)". For example, Shift + F2
(6) "Alt + (keys mentioned above)". For example, Alt + ArrowLeft
(7) "Ctrl + Shift + (keys mentioned above)"
(8) "Shift + Alt + (keys mentioned above)"
(9) "Ctrl + Alt + (keys mentioned above)"
(10) "Ctrl + Shift + Alt + (keys mentioned above)"

24. Before I started recording my robot, I had 2 windows already open. Do I need to have these windows open before I run that robot?

No. AutoMe is a smart macro recorder and does not require play conditions to be identical to recording conditions. However, if you performed activities in any of those prior open windows, then you will need to have those windows open before you run your robot.

25. Do I need to finish all my work in one window before moving onto the next window or can I switch back and forth between various windows while recording?

You can switch back and forth between various windows while recording.

26. I see an error "Cannot find window or application titled <title name> that was open during recording." What do I do?

By default the robot will only run on the specific window(s) it was recorded on. However you can check ‘Enable to run with other similar files or window titles' option in the edit robot dialog. This will instruct robot to run even if window title doesn't match exactly.

If you do not wish robot to be associate with any window or application, you can uncheck 'Enable RecWin Technology for this robot', this way robot will just run without looking for the window or application where it is recorded on.
